Are these online RSA courses approved for Queensland by OLGR?
These courses are approved by the Office of Liquor & Gaming Regulation (OLGR) for Queensland
I already have an RSA certificate from another state can I do a “bridging course” to meet the Queensland requirements?
Yes we offer the first OLGR approved online bridging course in Australia. You will need to either fax 03 8677 6577 or email copy of your current RSA certificate from another State/Territory before you can print off your new certificate.
How long does an online RSA course take to complete?
If you want to do it in one session most people take about 3-4 hours depending on experience, internet speed and knowledge.
What is the minimum internet speed that I need to do the training?
You need to have a broadband connection with at least 512kbs. You can test your internet connection speed click here www.speedtest.net
Are there additional costs involved?
The enrolment fee is the only cost to do online training. Unlike some of our competitors there are no hidden charges such as needing to pay for an assessment or if you fail having to repay. If you make a mistake you will be given an opportunity to keep re-doing the assessment 4x and then you will have to contact online support to review your issue.
Does online training work on Mac computers and browsers?
Online training is web based and works on most browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and others and yes we like Macs.
My shop account details don’t work when I try to login as a student?
Your shop account is separate account. You need to create a student account click here
How do I save where I am up to?
When you login and do the course the system will automatically remember the page where you are up to so that if you come back later you can start from that spot.
I want to do an RSA bridging course for Queensland what existing certificates can I use?
Any current national unit, State or Territory certificate can be used to bridge to the OLGR approved “RSA bridging course”
How will I get my Certificate?
First of all you need to complete the online survey. This is a requirement for reporting back to government and for our own continuous improvement.
For the RSA course you get two certificates to print or save. The OLGR RSA Training Course Certificate + a Nationally Recognised Certificate (excluding NSW and Tasmania & some requirements in Victoria) are provided as a PDF file. For OLGR RSA Bridging course you get the OLGR RSA Training Certificate provided as a PDF file. Once you complete the course to view the certificate go to the "My Certificate" link at the top, then follow the prompts.
Do I need to install a program or software?
You don't need to install anything specific on your computer. All you need is an up to date browser with the latest version of flash player installed. Get flash here
Is my old certificate still valid?
National certificates do not have expiry dates however, there is a requirement that qualifications are ‘current’. Certificates must contain a nationally-recognised unit code appropriate to your industry and this changes from time to time. The current code is SITHFAB009A. However in Qld the regulations changed 1 Jan 2009 - all new employees and Licensee/Managers must have an OLGR RSA Training Course Certificate and the national unit for those employed with current employer prior to 1 Jan 09 expires 30 June 2010. If in doubt, check with your employer.
I have purchased my course(s) but have not received an email with the course enrolment code?
In your email program please check your "junk" or "spam" folder for the email with your course enrolment codes. If you find the email in there you will need to move it to the "inbox" so that the links in the email work (this is a security thing). You can either drag and drop the email or right click and choose "move to .." then select the folder where you want it to be moved to.
I also need to get my FOOD SAFETY Level 1 or Level 2 for Health or Hospitality
Visit the following website www.onlinefoodsafety.com.au
For food safety after you have finished the online assessment, you will need to complete an assessment of practical skills, which can be comfortably completed within a few days. This assignment then needs to be sent to CFT and an email will be sent to you giving you permission to print your certificate once you are assessed as competent.
I work in the airline industry. Will the accreditation be valid in New Zealand and all states of Australia?
All airlines accept the national Statement of Attainment that you get when you to the OLGR RSA Training Course + plus you also have the OLGR RSA Training Course Certificate!
I live Overseas and I am coming to Australia for a working holiday. Can I do the training before I arrive so that I don’t have to worry about it when I get there?
No worries mate, the only States in Australia that don’t accept online certificates are Tasmania and New South Wales & in Victoria online training is NOT accepted for licensees or staff working with packaged liquor in bottle shops and supermarkets, or for venues where they have a condition on their liquor license requiring them to have RSA-trained staff (usually venues trading after 1am with amplified music). A face to face course is required to provide a Liquor Licensing certificate; but for every other state you will be covered by this online certificate.
